Why arent people getting rich off search?

Can people get rich off search and what do they know about search.

I mean this is how i see it. 

I should be getting rich off search. 

I want to make a company that shows up in search and gets traffic.

I mean I don't know what to think.

Can we bring products to the forefront and basically make people see what they want to buy.

We have to find these companies but how do we get a share of the company?

I want a part of the proceeds and be able.to basically say I got traffic and I am bringing in money and now I want to get compensated for it.
